Underwater Radios

As you know, sound travels through air but... guess what! it also travels through water.

Actually sounds travels faster in water than it does thru air. If you have a full mask - it covers your mouth and eyes - with a microphone you can create voice underwater; now, if on top of that you have a person with a receiver you will have a system that allows a person to talk with others underwater.

The use of the system is quite simple, the full mask and microphone are attached through a belt to the regular diving gear weared by the instructor and the receivers (which are about the size of a cigarrette pack) will be attached to your mask strap. All you have to do itīs to make sure that it is right over your ear canal.

One of the big advantages of this system is that it allows the instructor to talk to his group of divers about the names, habits and pecularities of sea life, as well as to point out the interesting stuff in the surrounding area verbally and right on the spot. When used by instructors to teach scubadiving it a great tool that makes underwater communication a lot easier and effective.

You donīt need any special training to use the earphone and you will no longer feel isolated undrewater. If for some reason you donīt feel confortable wearing the earphone just slide it backwards.
